Butterfly Table, my painted repurposed pedestal table, will be on display for the first time and available for sale as part of the 2021 PAC Members Exhibition at the Petaluma Arts Center November 13th to December 18th, 2021.

I am pleased that three of my Cartoneria sculptures are included in the Fairfield-Suisun City Visual Arts Association 58th Annual Nor-Cal Regional Juried Art Show. La Abeja Ocupada was awarded First Place.

It goes without saying that the past year and a half has been challenging. I am so grateful to continue to be able to make art during the pandemic. It has been a much needed creative outlet.

Mondays and Fridays are the days when I like to go to my studio and make art and that was my original plan for today, a Friday, after I finished doing chores around the house.

I am pleased that two of my cartoneria sculptures, Que Onda? and La Abeja Ocupada, are currently on display and for sale as part of All Creatures Great & Small a virtual art exhibit through Healdsburg Center for the Arts.

It is now week six of the stay-at-home order here in California and, as for everyone, this has been a very difficult time. Fortunately, I am still able to work in my studio a couple of times a week but I’ve been so distracted that I don’t seem to get much accomplished.

I’ve recently been making quilled greeting cards. It’s been so much fun coming up with new designs. I have completed four cards just in time for Valentine’s Day which are for sale in my Etsy Shop.

I am excited that my sculpture La Abeja Ocupada will be available for sale as a part of SNAP! at Arc Studios and Gallery in San Francisco.

2019 has turned out to be a pretty great year for me artistically. I moved into a new studio in February and I have lots of ideas and inspiration for more art. So many ideas that I wish I had more time to spend creating but for now I’m doing the best I can to keep up with my own excitement and motivation.

Way back in 2010 I opened a shop on Etsy. The purpose was to showcase and sell my bottle cap art. Unfortunately, I didn’t spend a lot of time on it and it generated only a handful of sales. Less than a year later I made the shop inactive as I began to focus on other work. Now I have decided to reopen the shop!

For the past seven months I have been very inspired and excited to make art. This is the best I have felt about my creative practice in a long time. Having a new space in which to explore and create has really got me focused and motivated.

I’m not sure exactly when it started. My creative spirit was waning. I remember I was in Colorado in the summer of 2016 at the annual stone carving symposium that I have attended many times before. For some reason the sculptures I was working on just didn’t feel right to me.

“A SCULPTURE EXHIBITION” at Marin Society of Artists opened April 5 and will run through April 30, 2017. The exhibition is in celebration of International Sculpture Day and features 72 sculptures from 49 sculptors, most from the Bay Area.

I am pleased to be a part of this upcoming sculpture exhibition in celebration of Internal Sculpture Day which is April 24th. The exhibition runs April 5th to April 30th in San Rafael.

For the past few years I've been experimenting with paper and making collages. Specifically, I've been using catalogs as the material source. It's fun and a little bit addictive. I've even made a couple of books.

Ten years ago, as a resident artist at the Mendocino Art Center I created a sculpture called Progression Structure #7. It was made of conduit tubing that was overstock from a construction job site. This sculpture was part of a series that was based on a system of numbers and was included in a one person show I had at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts called Permutations.

I'm pleased to announce that I will be exhibiting some of my metal sculptures at Lireille on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland this month and next. Please join me at the Artists Reception on June 3rd.

Please join me Friday, February 5th for Art Murmur at American Steel Studios. I will be showing a variety of work I've completed in the last 18 months including collage, box sculptures, unidentified metal objects (UMOs), poetry books, other hand-crafted items and even a chess set.
