Cartoneria

In 2017 I took a class to learn cartoneria (paper mache sculpture), a traditional folk art from Mexico. I love that this art form allows me to make a three-dimensional object using simple and easy to find materials: paper and paste. Traditionally, these sculptures are brightly colored with intricate designs and patterns using acrylic paint. The sculptures that I create using this form of art making are drawn from nature.
