Stone

When I first became excited about making art, I focused on learning how to carve stone. Michelangelo famously said, “every block of stone has a statue inside it, and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” When I start carving, I only have a vague idea of what I am trying to create. I let the material guide me while I work until the final form is all that remains.
